Hi
I have 98 mountain SRX that I hit a drift and flipped it on its side at a speed that caused the talking arm to bend. It is running and steering good but I have started to go through a lot of oil; I drained the reservoir in about 45 km. My riding partner said he didn't smell any extra oil from the exhaust so I am assuming I cracked the oil reservoir.
What is the best way to access the reservoir.
Thanks
John

Remove the Air box. There is a coolant bottle remove and disconnect the hoses too. Then you should be able to get to the oil bottle.

If you don't see oil everywhere under the hood, check the oil cable to make sure it didn't get pulled apart at the coupler.
I believe you have to loosen and/or remove the steering column to pull the tank. Might put a few lbs of shop air to the tank before you go to all that trouble.
I would suspect a disconnected line more so than a cracked tank.

If you do find out that your oil tank is cracked let me know. I've got one off my '98 sitting here gathering dust. Pay the shipping and it's yours.
