I want a GPS, but one I can see. Basically, the only thing I want is to be accurate, and have a backlight of some sort, and big enough screen so that i can see the numbers(MPH, that is)!!! Super cheap would be super cool:) :rocks:

find a Used/new Garmin "eMap" with a grayscale screen. I got mine for under 100$ new (ebay) and its a great little mapping unit. its NOT water proof though to I stick it inside a sandwich bag when I put it on my sled.

i use the maggellan sport trac map and its great waterproof large screen and backlit ...also you can get handle bar mount for about 24.00 the gps was 179.00 brand new and you wont beleive all the info you can get from these... top speeds elevation etc etc ...

If you can live without a GPS showing maps, I strongly recommend Garmin 201. It has a PC interface, external powersupply, very smal and very light, backlight and is the cheapest GPS around with the above mentioned specs.

Bought one in october and I am extremely satisfied with it! ;)!

Most GPS's can track your average and maximum speed. If you reset the GPS statistics and then you go somewhere or take a speed run, the maximum speed will tell you the fastest you went during your trip.
