I need some guideance. My son's sx600 triple is leaking coolant out the weep hole and have never done this job before. i see 2 seals and a rubber washer on the impeller bolt according to the pics. my question is, does the shaft have to come out to replace the seals? can i get seals out on the sled without too much hassle? thanks

no the shaft can stay in to do the mechanical seal. i did this on mine a while back, ill post a link to the thread

here is some good reading on it. if you have any questions, ive done this before. you will totally destroy the seal when taking it out, you basically collapse it then grab it with pliers and pull. when installing the new seal, do not touch the ceramic mating surfaces. i used blue loctite on the impeller splines too. this way theres an extra seal and if it ever has to come off im dealing with loctite that will release with heat, not corrosion.

Yes make sure you use blue or purple loctite on spline and bolt, I had a bolt loosen and impeller scored on housing.
