Last night I raced my stock viper against a Stock RX1, and to my surprise I had him the entire way. Right at the end he caught me but we may have even been past 1000ft by then. Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I ran my clutched viper with a clutched RX-1 and to my surprise as well I had him off the line and near the end he finally started to pull away from me once I hit around 94mph ish. I was like woo hoo! I thought he would have blown me away. Either way that machine is so much more refined then my viper but my viper is faster in the twisty's and can hold its own in the straights. Fun stuff...

I raced my viper against my rx-1 the viper keept up for a little while then was passed very quickly. Both sleds are stock and in good shape. :yam:

The ones I have run that are clutched pull me off the line by a couple lengths, then we stay the same all the way up. If we punch it down the lake side by side they dart a head about 1-2 lenghs immediately, then we freeze again.

its so hard to judge these races off the line because it is whoever gets the best traction until they are both hooked, which takes a little while...but a good running viper can give an rx1 at least a run for awhile. The RX will have long legs on top, but getting there should be closer.

From what i have seen ViperTom has his Viper S hookin up sweet was taking most every sled off the line. We were up this past weekend in a field running and my dads stock 04 rx-1 er was winning almost every race that my srx wasent in I ended up shredding a belt on that, and then later that same day busted another chain in my srx. Got it all fixed up and expert will be in it tomorrow. now back on track They were close for a little bit but the Rx-1 just powers over it and keeps on going. I was suprised how good his viper ran and with my neighbors 02. Good running sleds. But the Rx-1 just has more engine.

Ran against my buddies RX-1 with my viper, both are stock (he rebuilt his clutch but with stock parts). Depending on conditions we were both pretty equal out of the hole (RX-1 was a little better with more snow). Both were pretty even all the way up. The RX-1 seemed to pull ahead a little bit but in the end, the legs were long enough on my viper to catch him! Kind of strange, I would have thought that he would pull away on top as well. We both ran the same top mph (114 on pretty glare ice), but lately with our current conditions, i have been able to squeeze past him on long, long runs (well over 2000 feet). He is a little upset and I am happy as punch, but it all depends on conditions. I'm either lucky and have a fast viper or he's unlucky and has a little bit of a slower RX-1.

I have ran against most of the yamahas with my 05 warrior and beaten them pretty easily. This include Vipers, Sx's, SXR's, SRX's as well as a few F-7's. All conditions being equal a Viper should not even be in the same park as a RX1.

Yep, The viper was hooking pretty good but NOTHING out there compared to the complete asskicking provided by TopGunn. He was up front on a consistent basis followed by his dads rx-1. I was able to see it all from right behind. Damned F-7s would drop out just as we were coming up around, they knew they were had!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that my viper is as fast as an RX-1. Just saying that my sled is pretty equal with a friends RX-1. Have not gone head to head with any other RX-1's. Like i said, depending on conditions each sled will run a little differently. The other weekend, there were three of us, viper, RX-1, and an SRX. For some strange reason that day, my viper seemed to have the best hook-up and i took bragging rights for the day. The next weekend, i couldn't come close to my buddies SRX. When we ran in near perfect conditions, the RX-1 and Viper both ran 114 mph while the SRX ran 120 mph (all on radar). All sleds are stock and with the SRX having triple/triple, it should leave me standing still. Doesn't happen all the time. It all seems to depend on conditions and how the sled is running. We are all pretty close for the time being. I think. i'm just really lucky and have a pretty quick Viper. I'm not complaining about it in anyway ;)!
