Just bought a 2000 yamaha srx 700 with cracked sheave. Replace sheave if possible?? Or new clutch

You can replace the sheave but you should get the clutch balanced after that.

Shaggy said it all. Either get a used one and tune it or replace sheaves and get it rebalanced. You can buy the used clutch w/o clutch weights. Just transfer yours over to it.

The Yamaha clutch is very good. Lots of guys here have great calibrations for them. I would keep it. replace the sheave, balance it and it will be good to go.
