So I was just wondering what is the best way to get more acceleration for my trail riding on my stock 03 ViperSXV700. I've been told if I take 2 teeth off top sprocket that it will gain significantly. Is this true? But will I also run into problems just by Doing that? And if so, is there anything else I should do to prevent this? Thanks for the help guys

What is your current clutching? What rpm's does it pull? Just off the top of my head gearing applies mechanical advantage therefore you may require more weight in the primary.

don,t just take this sled and leave clutching alone and drop two teeth in gearing. you will hurt this sled. get your acceleration up through better clutching. their are a million viper setups here. 3:16x (yammie tony)

Two teeth down does help. Just make sure HYVO chain will be the correct length. Primary clutch weights outer hole may need heavier rivet. Shift 8450 RPM.

You need to put a sharpie line radially on the primary sheave and go ride it. If the sled isn't fully shifting out it won't wipe the mark completely off the primary. You can then drop a gear and dropping the chain case ratio will let t pull harder and achieve full shift out. You also need to understand clutching too. Remember the basics of clutching too. Primary controls rpm, secondary controls shifting. Weight in the primary is for a given hp level.
