Hello fellow brethren,
While on a surfing safari, I happened across these.
http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/370497126243
Their part# differs from that of stock.

And here is a cut & paste from a BTV write up.
Transfer rods are all the same length on all pro actions. The difference is in the spacers. Spacers are what change where the coupling occurs in the suspension travel
Does anyone know what makes these different?
Thank-you

These look like the replacement pieces that Yamaha came up with to replace the 2 piece rods that the sleds were built with. There was a "recall" of sorts when my 96 was new. The dealer was to replace these rods and tighten the rear spring up to the max setting. My selling dealer was not very good and never notified me. I did the work myself and installed Bender adjustable ones. Bender had the only adjustable rods for the 96 that I have ever seen.
The original ones did not have the holes in the lower thread area for a cotter pin. You can just make out the indents on that Ebay photo.
They might be shorter to help with weight transfer which a stock sled is lacking VERY much, this might be why they're called a "performance kit" as well?
