Based on the reputation for Yamalube 2s would you run it in a Polaris 700 twin non ves motor? Would you say it's at least equivalent or better than Polaris blue non ves oil? I have 2.5 gallons of yamalube and in all honesty my mountain sled goes through a couple quarts a year, max. I don't really want to get into the "ill buy this oil for this sled and that oil for that sled" program. I've always been happy with the Yamaha oil and I'm guessing it's additive package will keep a liberty twin happy.
How do you go about "switching" oils on a sled? Do you let it get low and blend it, suck it out with an oil sucker and throw it away? What are the side effects of mixing mineral, semi and full synthetic? The Polaris was full when I bought it with some sort of blue oil and I only rode it enough the first winter to get the low oil light on in the spring. It had half a quart of castrol 2 stroke oil in the trunk that was the same color and kind of looked the same so I filled it back up with that.
