Does anyone know the exact nature of the coating that Yamaha uses on the cylinder heads? I do not think that powder coating will tolerate over 600 degrees and I assume that the head external gets that hot????

The folks at JET HOT tell me that their ceramic coating might hold in heat. Is this potentially a good thing or bad?

Bottom line: what type of coating will work best on the heads?

I would think it is just powder coating. The external temp of the head doesn't get too hot. The combustion chamber is a different story. Jet Hot is usually ceramic coating used on the exhaust...................SRXtreme
