Picked up one of these kits for my jack shaft and drive axle.
Question is, the drive axle kit came with a couple o-rings....where do these go? I've checked Yamaha parts diagram and they don't appear to be there....well actually I saw 2 o-rings, one on the jack shaft and one on the drive axle, they were on the chain case side. Confused.....do I not need these? thanks guys.

The 2 o-rings go inside the spacers, 1 on each shaft

The I rings I got were in the drive axle kit and none in the jack shaft kit, also by spacer do you mean the collar that holds the drive lug (wheel) in place? Thanks

Its the spacer that the seal on the back of the chaincase rides on. The collar on the jackshaft comes off easier than the one on the driveshaft. If you pull it off you will see the o ring inside the collar.

Ok just came in from the garage, found both o-ring positions, one on jack shaft collar, one on driveshaft collar, it was weird that both o-rings came in the driveshaft kit and not one in the driveshaft kit and one in the jack shaft kit. Strange? Anyways....Ok next question....kit came with one last o-ring....it's a big one....? Where's that one go? Thanks again guys for all the patience with me and all the help.

The big one isn't needed.
I have tried to use it under the speedo drive housing to see if that area can be sealed, but it's more of a pain to keep it in place then it's worth.

Kinda thought it may be for that but wasn't sure. It would be a pain to keep in place I can imagine

I went through the same debate when I bought an All Balls kit, I had this one big O ring left over and couldn't for the life of me figure out where it went because as many times as I'd had the chaincase and drive axle out of my sled I never ever run across anyplace that it would fit.

Just did my srx and deluxe with this kit. I ended up not using the small o-rings because they are too thin and crappy. They broke when I had to remove them and reinstall. Glad I looked at them before reinstalling. Yes I did add a bit of grease to lube it when I installed them. There quality is not all that great. The factory ones are thicker/ bigger diameter I reused the stock ones because they still looked in excellent shape.
