Well the motor is coming out of the 700 just in time for winter
Pulled the top end and decided the lower should come out as well just to be safe and replace all seals etc...
Any tips or words of wisdom to get the motor out, i have pulled the brace over the Mag side, popped the clutch, carbs electrical connection and motor mounts or unbolted.
I see oil lines running to the motor and suppose the best way is to lift the motor using the slack and pull the lines from the motor.

Yes, if I remember correctly you should be able to roll the engine forward and disconnect the bottom oil line, and have something to plug the oil lines, otherwise a big mess later. That PTO side bearing/seal is an expensive little bugger.

Thanks,
I rolled it forward pulled all three from the pump (the one was blowing the supply line).
pulled pulse line and lifted her out.
Nice little mouse nest underneath not sure how long thats been there
Also the tape around the harness is worn to the point i can see the green wire but the insulation on the green wire is not affected as of yet, so looks like some loom will be needed to protect that.
The reason for the tear down is a "knock" of sorts that happens when you rev and drop throttle i am really hoping its the water pump/oil pump bearings or something along those lines (would make sense as motor has good power and top end is in spec.

If the oil lines are similar to the fuel lines on my Venture, I used golf T's to plug the lines.

good idea carey didn't think of that, i just pulled the line back and ran it up the side of the tank so the end was higher than the oil level (which was pretty full.)
