Fazer Question ?

What size engine came in the early Fazers ? I have a chance to buy an old one but he says it's a 440 and I thought that they only had the 485 in them.

Phazer and Phazer 2 were 458 (pre 99) and Phazer 500 is 485 (99-01).

My 87 says 485 right on it

Model name for some reason was PZ480 but yes engine size is 485, as Yamahamark said its stamped on the cylinders.

Well then where the heck did I get 458 from? I could have sworn that's what it was, and that the Phazer 500 had a slightly larger motor as it was revised for the new chassis.

Same motor same parts just different mounting for the pro action chassis.

The bottom end is totally different. The pistons are different. Cylinders are different, Crank is different, but some parts may interchange as an assembly between the two.
