OK I have a factory service manual and it DOES NOT mention any sealant between the case halves. I know that Yammabond should be used but why is it not mentioned in the factory service manual?

what manual are you using? the oem service manuals clearly show yamabond 5 between the case halves. its the little symbol shown that looks like a tube with a circled #5 on it. dont even know what sled your working on but i can tell you from experience that every service manual clearly shows yamabond between the cases. i cant be the only one that knows how to read them. front of the manual will have a legend as to what the symbols indicate.

I use loctite 518. Always worked for me. Hey whatever is cheapest
