330 mains
40 Pilots
Q0 needle Jets
6DH7 Needles.......middle groove
Air screws 1 turn out
2.0 slides
I have not "pulled the rope" yet......just want to make sure i am in the ballpark.
I figured someone on here has to be running these carbs on an 81.

up that main jet to 380. everything else looks pretty good. i used butterflies on my 81, but ran 39.5 carbs on alot of older srx,s. 3:16x (yammie tony)
Thanks again !! I will up the mains and fire it up.

like Tony said up the mains .....it is a good starting point but for me i would change up the tubes, needles and slides......i would go with a Q-8 tube 2.5 slide and 6DH3 needle in 3RD groove
All good info guys !! I thought i had seen a chart somewhere that showed what needles were compatible with what needle jets (tubes) Am I crazy....or is there such a thing?

I'm restoring an original owner 900 mile 81 SRX myself but plan on retaining the stock butterflys. I know they have a deadly lean spot in the 1/3 throttle range but pondering a dial-a-jet set up to compensate...
I thought about using the stock carbs too...but I was thinking the slides had a little better adjustability.

Yep. I'm sure there are more proven carb set ups for 38 slides but hope to get the butterflies dialed in but may throw the towel in at some point...
I have 2.0 and 3.0 slides what would be better of them two. Or should I search for some 2.5's
