4300 miles, with triple pipes and clutch work done. Pictures sure look good. If it is as clean as it appears, may pull the trigger. Issues or concerns with the 01 SXR 600's ? Brother in law (potential) purchase. If he gets it, he's calling it the red-headed blue-blister. ;)!

We hear these things scream.

That's a 600 Redhead and the redheads run forever you can do the mods to it that you can do to your twin if it hasn't already been done.
They do scream and if you set your twin up right you'll stay right with him but he'll get better fuel economy.
I say buy it if it's in good shape I've 15,000 miles on the Redheads and never a problem and motor never opened up.

I had a 2000 SXR 600 a couple of years ago, it had Hauck triple pipes and was clutched, she was quick and sounded awesome!!

My brother's 600 redhead Venture has 15000 miles and has never been opened up. It is do for a refresh but still. I've also seen and heard many other examples of those 600 and 700 triples reaching 12000 + miles with no rebuilds.

Wow ! Great news. Thanks guys. Going to look her over today. Anything I should be aware of during my look ? Compression around 120 ?

Shaggyzr2: The sled has Hauck pipes and clutched. Sounds like a reliable set-up.

YamahaMark: Thanks for the input on both my posts. Last Yamaha I had was a 95 v max 500 2-up. Burned the PTO piston at 200 miles. Yamaha went good. Said it was an issue. Leaned out that side at trail speeds. Was rebuilt where I bought it. They adjusted clutching and carbs too based on the Yamaha bulletin. Never ran right after that. Traded it for a Poo. Been riding Poo ever since. Getting back to Yamaha for the fun of it.

Well, bought it. Will give it a thorough look over Saturday. Thanks all for the info. !

Sounds like you gotta good one.
I once had a poo rode great but it blew the 2nd week I had it. Had cat hated it sold it 3 day later. Haven't had a ski doo yet but my dad and older brother has. I will always have a Yamaha in my stable of sled I have never and any issues when it comes to reliability.
