I seized number 3 piston on my 92 750 and bought a used piston and jug for a 1992 but when I got it the piston has a round hole in back of skirt. Is the new pistons designed this way with a round hole in back side of skirt? If so is it safe to use this with the other original pistons? thanks

Sounds like a 93/94 piston. 92's had no holes in them. Or someone could have added the hole.

After further research I think I got a 92 cylinder and 93 piston, sound right?

What's the casting code on the cylinder? I believe 92's were 89a, 93's were 8ax.

The cylinder casting number is 89a, I bought the sled brand new and this was the first time it was apart so I knew everything was stock, after looking alittle closer at the used piston and cylinder I bought it was a miss matched set. It was a 89a cylinder with a 89ax piston. I found a NOS factory piston and rings the other day and got it running last night, nice to hear it run again, almost forgot how sweet they sound. First time it has ran since 2003 lol
