Vmax experts needed

I recently acquired a 95 vmax 600 for free. I am in the process of trying to get this sled running. I absolutely can't get spark out of it. Replaced stator, coil, cleaned up flywheel, checked all connections and wires, tested kill switch, ignition switch, pulsor coil, all test out good. Only thing left is the cdi, do these usually go bad, is there a way to test? I've searched countless threads:o| trying everything, just can't get any spark at all. Advice needed. Thank you.
 
Check the cdi box and the voltage regulator. Also check for any rub trough's on the wiring harness and then try disconnecting the tors.
 
Thanks yamahamark, I did bypass tors and tried new plugs. I also inspected all wiring and harnesses. How do I test the cdi and voltage reg? I don't have a service manual for this sled. Is there some possible way to run a jumper from the pickup coil or stator connection up to the ignition coil to get spark and to verify that the cdi unit is the culprit? Thanks again
 
This is going to sound cold but swap the CDI box with a running sled.
Like you said the only thing you have left is the wiring and the boxes.

I have 2 of these sleds (95-96) which is very handy when this kind of thing happens.
I have put 17,000 miles on them collectively and have only lost spark once so far and that was a stator.

Make sure your grounds are all good. Last year I bought an older sled that someone couldn't get spark on it. I looked it over twice and checked all the wires and found that he had put the ground wire from the coils onto a piece of plastic...
 
Thanks guys for all the replies. I bought a used cdi off fleabay today. Its supposed to be here Monday. Will update what I find out next week.
