We Have A 97 700 That The Electric Start Was Added On After By Dealer. Now It Wont Start With The Elctric Start, But Pull Chord And It Goes. When We Let Off The Key It Backfires And Blows The Can Off. Any Ideas
Sounds to me that you are losing spark when the key is tuned all the way to turn the motor over. When you let off the key to the next position (normal running) it does have spark - then it backfires or lites up the fuel you have been pumping when turnning the motor over with the key.
The dealer should take care of it for you if they installed it.
