Hey guys, I'm putting a new track on my 98 SRX 700 and from everything I've read I have to remove entire crankcase and brake caliper setup in order to get the driveshaft out and remove the track, I have everything taken off and ready to go but I'm having trouble getting the Nut off the gear on the jack shaft (top gear in the crankcase) my question is what size socket do i need and is it standard or reverse thread????
Thanks Scott

It is right handed thread. I can't remember what size. It's easiest to leave the brake caliper on and use the brake to hold the shaft.
Sounds good I'll give it a shot today, I'm just having a tough time getting the nut off the gear on the jack shaft and was planning on using an impact gun to get it off but didn't wanna go the wrong way with air tools if it was a reverse thread

I bought a socket specifically to fit that nut and it's something like 28mm or there abouts. You'll definitely want to wait til you get that nut started before you take the brake off.

in a pinch you can just use a large crescent wrench. I prefer the socket, but sometimes one is not available. Grab the brake handle with your left hand once you have the wrench ready to turn. Another option is to zip tie the brake engaged, just don't forget about it.
