Hi everyone,

I had problem with my phazer and found that the stock exhaust was destroy in it.
So i find a bender racing pipe for cheap $$.
Try to properly jet the stock carb but i was having a lot of pinging in the midrange like a lot of people with aftermarket pipes on these engines.

I read a lot on the flatslide carb conversion for phazer 480.
But i don't find a lot of information about the oil pump cable.
I want a keep the oil injection if possible.

I have all the kit from a 1995 Vmax 600. The carbs, throttle assembly with lever, throttle cable, oil pump cable, choke cables.

I had read that some people use a 1993 exciter SX oil pump cable. But it's very difficult to find as it is discontinued from yamaha.

Does somebody have an other solution??
Does someone have a trick to fit the Vmax cable to the pump properly?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I hope Yamaha are continuing supplying mechanical parts for the Exciter SX, I have two of them.
I have the SX cable on my Phazer but read since that any EX570 or Vmax 540 oil pump cable will work.

I had verify for the vk540 oil pump cable. But these are like the phazer. The cable goes from the pump to the top of the carburetor and it is linked to the throttle cable. So its the throttle cable that move the carburetor and the oil pump.

The exciter have a dual cable thumb throttle lever that move 2 cables like the vmax.

And yes here in canada the oil cable is discontinued.

Thanks for your help.
