With no snow, I decided to finish the installation of the heat exchanger protectors I ordered back in November. I've been storing my sled in an enclosed trailer. Today while unloading my sled I pulled a bone headed stunt. I forgot to remove the clamp that holds the skis to the trailer.
I started the sled, disengaged the parking brake, put it in reverse, and tried to go backwards. I know it takes about 5000 RPM to get my sled moving. As I tried to reverse, it didn't move, I give it more gas, and still nothing. I have the engine up to 7000 RPM for a few seconds, there a lot of engine smoke, the track was not moving, and a slight smell of rubber before I realize the sled is still clamped down. After removing the clamp, the sled moved as expected.
Is it likely that I did any damage to the clutches? I'm hoping it's like doing a burnout with a car. You loose some rubber, but no damaged. I only shortened the life of my belt.
After I finished installing the heat exchanger protectors, the sled drove back into the trailer without problems.
FWIW, I recently installed some Caliber brand ski guides and track mats in the trailer. It makes loading the sled so much easier. Before, the carbides caused a lot of drag across the plywood deck.

Probably just burned your belt. Hopefully it doesn't have a flat spot in now. You will feel it if its very bad.

No damage to your clutch as you will be hitting high rpm's while riding. You only hurt your belt but probably not enough to tell.
