I have a 2000 Sxr 600 that I think is using to much oil. I checked it and it used about 38 oz of oil with 6 gals of gas. I have had this sled for a long time and it seems to be using more oil. Could their be something wrong with the oil pump or does it need to be adjusted

What year is the sled for starters, makes a diff on what type of pump you have.
did you have the carbs off recently? or added a riser?

If you havent messed with anything, i would say your pump is shot. They go wide open when bad.

The sled is a 2000. I had a dealer clean the carbs last year and since than it seems to gradually getting worse for using oil. I am thinking the oil pump is going bad. Will it hurt if I keep running it like that or will the pump stop all together. Thinking about trading for a different sled.

Make sure they didnt pull apart the oil pump cable under the rubber sleeve mid way. I have seen it happen many times.
