Can't find the serial # on 500cc engine.....where is it?

I have a 500cc engine I picked up along the way, but for the life of me can't find the serial # to the engine. Does anybody have a photo where the location is?

Look on top of the engine case between the recoil and cylinder.

Thank u.......found it!! Was under a layer of grime.

Follow up question: Do the engine and frame #'s of these Vmax's always match, or are there exceptions?
