Hey I was reading your info in the Tech section on raising your bars. I have a question, When you are talking about running the throttle cable through the air box, are you bending the 90 deg. metal part and straightening it out some? After looking at mine, it doesn't even come close to lining with the slot(way lower). The instructions in the tech section on this doesn't address this or show pictures on rerouting the cable through the box. I have a 2" on my MM, but want to set mine up like yours with the pivoting bottom increasing the lift to 3.25". Thanks for the article,Soc

Hi,
If you look at the first pic, you can see that I didn't have to bend the angled metal piece. I thought that was on the brake cable? I don't think I had an angled metal piece on the throttle, but I will look at lunch and let you know.
Still, I think the best advice is to unbolt the handle bars, and the clamp holding the bars. Then take a 3 - 4" piece of wood and see if it'll fit. Make sure to turn the handle bars to see if they will turn freely. Who knows, maybe the wires in the Canadian and US models are different, or there could be some other wierd variable you didn't count on.
Will let you know,
-Jon

Cables
I took a look at my set up. There are two cables that run to the throttle. One comes up under the middle of the carbs, the other is attached at the right end of the carb rack. The wire on the right does have the angled metal piece. I did not bend it, there was still enough room to leave that going around the side of the air box. I think you can see that in the pic. I put the other wire between the air box.
Hope that helps,
-Jon
