Other than part number prefix what,if any,are the differences between sliding sheaves for Yamaha primarys? Will one for a 4 stroke work on my SRX?What about a V Max 4?They all appear to be the same,I did notice some don't have the set screw holes drilled and tapped for the flyweight pins, but other than that what else would be different?

They should all work on the srx.

I was just talking to a guy that parts out sleds and he has a complete one off a Viper . I've bought parts from him in the past and has used me good on prices so if it's in decent shape I'll probably buy it.

4 stroke is the same unless your going to put e start on, no holes milled. the difference is the holes, a slot in the spyder for the flat weights to swing through and newer 4 stroke ones have o rings on the brake side of the slide buttons to help with noise.

Thanks Scott. Did you get my PM about the parts?
Are the SRX power valves cylinder specific? Or can the clutch side valve go in the middle or mag side, etc?

Powervalves are all the same on 700s. 600s are different

What about the shaft size. I would have thought the 4 stroke would have a larger bore?

Glad you got your answer but for best results you should start your own thread in the future. It just keeps things cleaner and more orderly for others searching with the same question.
