Greetings, first post on site. Looks like a great place. I am replacing exhaust gaskets (cylinder to Y pipe) on my 1998 Vmax 600. Little help, which side goes against which surface. One side has a bead of silicon and is rounded one does not.

Welcome to the site.
I put the rounded part into groove cut into the head pipe.
PS: What is the part # on those?

And when you install them, I put a thin layer of high temp RTV silicon gasket sealant on the flat mating surfaces as well. Permatex Ultra Black comes to mind. The black that is squeezed out between the two surfaces isn't as noticeable as copper coat.

Much better than the bright orange stuff that the Ski-Doo's used to have smeared all over on their exhaust joints from the factory.
