My 3 1/2 year old grandson has a new 120 and I am Mr. Maintain. I lubed the chain on the 120 after his ride at the clutch area it seemed to burn the lube right off the chain the clutch was so hot. Is it normal to get that hot?

Same thing on my sons 120. He complained the chain cover was so hot it was burning his foot.

they are just centrifugal clutches, and they get real hot. i would try for a dry lube, try some graphite spray lube maybe, that wont burn off.

try motocross chain wax on it. does not fling off unless it gets really hot.

Make sure the brake band is not dragging.

I have seen guys mod little scoops to allow for more air flow to the clutch so this doesn't happen.
