Will a 2000 -2002 srx throttle cable be a direct replacement for my 98 srx?my 98 cable is fubared and id like the reroute like my 2000 cable where it goes around instead if over the air box.
as long as the ends/length of travel are the same there should be no problem.
So are they the same length? Has anyone done this?
I've got the newer style ones on my '98 and they work fine, they're a bit longer because I'm using a bar riser but as far as the ends they're identical.

I put the newer throttle cable on so I could go around the airbox and it is perfect. Makes it a ton easier to get the airbox out.
Well looks like i will have to replace the cable with the 98 99 short one. Dont have a yamaha dealer in my city and royal as well as kimpex dont have one for a 2000 and up. Oh well I tried!!
see if they have one for a viper 2002-2003 it will interchange and be longer.
If you cant find one let me know,I've got 2 or 3 in my spare parts box.I have the original off my '98 plus at least one or two other cables, one of which I think is a longer one but I'd have to dig them out and measure them to be sure.
