Found a guy online that's near me who has a crap load of old Yamaha parts. I'm just going to grab a new CDI and ignition coil and throw them on. Hopefully this week.

Good news! Got my sled started tonight.... bad news is that it only runs on one cylinder. I did a compression test and I have 145psi on one side and 75psi on the bad side. I haven't taken the head off yet to see what the damage is but looks like I'm probably doing a rebuild next week sometime.

Maybe you'll get lucky and only need rings.

I put on a new (used) ignition coil... loads more spark from this thing and hooked the battery up to my car battery for lots of juice. Started right up but ran like crap but was chugging along.
