So after 2 months of owning a blue cobra windshield I'm sick of it! Poor fitment, not secure etc etc. worst part is due to the poor fitment the blue tint is wearing off at the bottom of the windshield from rubbing on
the headlight cover that holds the gauges. I have the original windshield part no: 8CV-77210-00-00 however it is really scratched up and beat. Thinking of getting a new oem yammy windshield and am wondering if the 8CR-77210-00-00 that comes on some of the vmax, SX, etc is any higher in the hand area. It appears a bit higher blocking wind from the face but I'm looking at whether it blocks more wind from the hand area. The stock 8CV shield is very low at the hand area, the cobra I have is a bit higher and my hands stay warm, not into hand guards or any a that stuff just want a nice looking shield to cover my hands a bit.
The top shield is the 8CR and the bottom is the original srx shield 8CV. If anyone has any decent pics that would be nice. Thanks guys
One last question...I forgot. My 8cv stock windshield has a white lettered "Yamaha" sticker across the bottom....is this original?

The white yamaha sticker is original, but when you buy a new windshield from yamaha it doesn't come with the sicker.

The red windshield on the red sled in your avatar....vmax I think....that's not stock I assume?

I did a Google search on srx's and saw a bunch of photos of them with the higher windshield but as I stated earlier it seems as if it's only higher in the center not near the hands. Can anyone confirm?
I don't think any of the oem Yamaha w/s are flared enough to give much wind deflection,that's the reason I changed mine to Cobra.There was another maker that offered at one time a flared w/s for the older Yamaha SX chassis but I don't know if they still do or even the name for certain.I want to say Sno Stuff but don't know if that's right.
