So, hit brake lever, no change in bulb, bulb is good. Seems bright for running light. Would bad switch cause this? Not sure what to check.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

I had to clean the switch on my 98 a couple years back, it was the same deal as what your experiencing. Not a big job, just remove it from the brake lever, pop it apart, scrape the contacts clean, put a little dab of dielectric grease on them, snap it back together and your golden.

Ohm your switch and your circuit to the rear bulb connector.. You should not exceed O.4 Ohms. If you do exceed then there is resistance in one of the wires. Ohm them individually to isolate your problem.
Also make sure to check for green on your connectors

I took switch apart, was corroded pretty good inside, like a thin metal band inside, looked like it was broken. So I ordered a new one, was like 21$ shipped. Installed it, good to go.
Thanks for responses tho!
