Hello, Blew a track today on my VMAX slide went through it, was wondering what the max lug track I could put on it without different gearing and such, looking at a 1.5 inch lug camoplast for $300, not sure if will have enough clearance to not cause any problems like rubbing and hitting rads. Sled is a 1996 Yamaha VMAX 600, 121x15 inch track with 2.52 pitch.

You should be fine with 1.5 and you could always trim it if you need to.

1.5 will only fit with 8 tooth drivers. Which by the way is a kick arse upgrade over the .875 that's on it. 1 inch if your sticking with the stock 9 tooth.
Which 1.5 is available to you?

Ok was reading some people were saying they changed gearing etc but just looking for a easy track swap, how would you go about trimming?

Thanks picked up a 1 inch lug track with 144 studs should hook good compared to stock almost bald lugs to having studs and nice lugs.

It sounds like yours is running well enough that you can still ride it (until the track damage).
My brother gave me a 1" studded Polaris track for my XT.
Mine still has good lugs on the ground but the drive lugs and studs are getting worn out after almost 10K miles.
Before next season I going to swap it and rebuild the shocks, it's been too long since I did those.
