Finally got to put 200 miles on the 01 SRX I picked up last spring. I rebuilt the M10 completely and cleaned the carbs before going. The sled handles fantastic, love the suspension. The headlight was amazing too. Never really cared to night ride but that headlight makes it easy. I did lose the spacer/bolt to the right side sway bar. If anyone has one I'm looking but I could probably just make one. The other problem I had was lack of top end. I could only get 7,800 rpm and 75mph. I'm guessing that's shit powervalves. All in all, it's a great fast cornering trail machine. Both my buddies wanted to buy it after they rode it.

Nice sled. The m10 is nice. Hopefully yours has the good rebuildable shocks. Mine had some cheap steel shocks on it which I haven't seen on any other m10s I have looked at but the bottom came apart on it last weekend. Other than that it was great.

Thats a fast sled. Loved it, It's gone now, moved to the Srx. Well, looks like I need powervalves and cables. Are they supposed to move freely? One slid right out, the other 2 I had to yank out with pliers

Yes supposed to move freely. I found a set of used ones for $130 shipped. Have you ever set the free play on the powervalve cables? http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/...lthrough/page2?p=634687&viewfull=1#post634687

Looks like the one on the left someone drilled and tapped it. It sucks when the valves are stuck in the cylinder. Make sure when you replace them you install with big bevel down. You will stay in the 7800 rpm range if they are upside down plus they will get stuck again for sure from the carbon if they are upside down. I learned this the hard way. Adjust them properly and clean them at least yearly and you should not have a problem again.

if you liked it with all 3 valves pulled, wait till you ride it with all 3 working and set correctly....... youll gain gobs of power.

For sure. It had great throttle response but any more than about 1/3 throttle and it fell flat. --- in my search for PV's I found some on eBay for a viper, I'm guessing they are not the same?

The viper valves are different.

valves have to be for a srx, 98-02 all the same valve.
viper valve is a different dimension on the length because the exhaust port being different on the cylinder so they dont interchange with a srx
