I have a 98 srx 600 had the motor swapped for a 700 and have been fouling alot of plugs the last couple of weeks. it was running fine for the longest time has had proper service and everything. but im also finding that before the plugs foul i have a almost sucking noise and loss of power. i find this starts when im feathering it thru a long slower turn. if i run it full out it seems to be fine till i slow then i start to foul. i changed the plugs yesterday from br9es to br9ecs and found the sled is running alot rougher and it seems the right piston (throttle side) seems to be hitting harder than the other two any idea what could be causeing this

A few things to check.
A: compression
B: choke plungers ( make sure the choke plungers are clean and returning to default position )
C: plug caps ( use ohm metre and verify they're 5 k )
D: check your oil pump cable ( make sure the cable is seated in the adjuster and not pulled apart )
E: carb cleanliness ( even though you said you perform regular service )

Your using the correct plugs now,the ECS's,they are the recommended plug for the SRX anyway plus have the features that make them less prone to fouling ordinarily.
The issue with what you perceive a sucking noise has me a little baffled,I've never experienced anything like that so hopefully someone will chime in that has some info on that for you.

Curious if the sucking sound could be from a bad seal on either the carb rack (either from the air box or motor side)or the exhaust donuts (shot in the dark)..... agreed on carb cleanliness...especially with crap fuel if something is gummed up you could be running lean causing a foul.

Just my limited experience 2 cents lol

The sucking sound I thi Think is coming from a crack in the exhaust manifold all new plugs BR 9 ECs carbs are cleaned recently all wires are new I haven't checked the oil injector wires so ill check thst out tonight

Put injection oil in my gas sled was running really smoth didn't have any problems on an hour run at 6000 rpm. Was about 200 yards from my destination heard what I thought was a piston knocking checked oil in resivor was almost dry got couple bottles dropped off to where I was. Few hours later started Sled let it warm up I was about to leave secondary was spinning chain case change snaps could this be part of the reason I've been losing plugs? The chain stretching and getting ready to break ?
