Hey all, quick question. I got a 2 degree offset timing key and was thinking of putting it in while I got the recoil apart. Im not sure which way to install it though. Do I want to retard or advance it?
Retarding would be cut side to the front of the sled and rotate the mag counter clockwise so it fires after tdc.
Advancing would be cut side to the rear of the sled and rotate the mag clockwise so it fires before tdc.
Correct me if i'm wrong, thinking i want to advance it?
Motor basically stock except for pistons drilled, heads cut, gutted airbox, 152, 152, 153.8 mains

if your adding a offset key for timing, you have to advance it. 3:16x (yammie tony)

Looking at the stator, the cut side of the key should be to the rear of the sled, then rotate the mag clockwise hold and tighten, correct?

Thanks! The hand written instructions I got from Hauck years ago say the opposite, didn't make sense to me.
