Is anyone else running this combo? I was running it with 4g heel 2g center and 4g tip. Red spring primary and green secondary @ 60. It just didn't feel as strong as it should. It was running at 8500 before I geared down one tooth on the top. It now runs 8600. Tonight I changed it to 4g heel 4g center and 3g tip. Same springs. I haven't had a chance to ride now because it is so warm. Anyone else running the same set-up? Any input is appreciated!!

I don't run clickers but I would think you need more helix angle. A higher angle will accelerate faster and also bring down the shift RPM. Check the clutch tuning pages for a setup that will work.

h/c set up
Its gonna depend on the brand of helix, but with a 36 degree finish, your gonna over rev with only 3 grams in the tip, I would move the weight to the tip and reduce the center weight, the engine will respond faster, when you apply alot of weight in the middle they will slow down the revs. Being geared steeper will allow you to pull more weight in the clutch, but will also make you spin the track easier in snow. So you may need some suspension work to go along with deeper gearing to find the sweet spot. Your looking for 8100rpm smack on from the holeshot and let it climb to 84-8500 rpm on top.
BTW- with the helix your using, you could use the red secondary and get a tad more top end, the green will still work but is stiffer then the red, I usually go to green with a 50 start or higher on the helix, the red will yield the best topend mph. The red will take more pretension, but is still softer then the green at lower pretension. You want to use only just enuff tension to keep the belt from being sucked in the secondary, on the start and from overshifting at 100ft out, this will yield the best topend, it makes a big differance.

I think the helix is micro-belmont.(sp?) If I wanted to change helix's what are some suggestions? It seems like a 51-52 starting angle, but what for a finish angle?

helix selection
use what you have first, tune them like I said, and I think youll be surpised at the results. I have quite a few helix I use with h/c, I like a 50/40, 52/38, 52/36, 51/39, 48/34,49/40 and it all depends on the sled as to which one I use, traction, traction, traction, engine mods, and suspension set up are all big factors, did I mention traction??......lol
I have used the helix you have with very good results also, try it you already have it, spend some time and tune the set up in, youll be happy with the results.
