How much should the front end sag? Right now it has around 4-5". Too soft?
Yes, to much.
When were the shocks rebiult last ? You can crank the spring pressure up a bit to compensate for a little while. But it sounds like it's time for those shocks to get some attention.

shocks have nothing to do with ride height. Preload the coils more or replace them.
