I have a 02 MM700 ,,w/mods going in my buggy,,I am wondering if I should go with different clutchs that will be stronger and better design,,,something maybe off a viper or something,,i think the crankshaft size and jackshaft size would be the same,,but I may be Way wrong

Also wondering if anyone would know what a Heel Clicker Super Torquer Clutch Kit ,,, STS1HC 50-7 would go in,,and how extreme it would be???

I believe the 02 clutch you have has the tall cover already, all parts between the viper and mm are interchangeable. You dont want sts1hc 50-7 http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/threads/69938-50-7-heel-clickers you want either 45-7's or 40-10's. 45-7's I believe are the original and require removal of some webbing behind where the weight swings out. heavy hitters could also be an option. Do you know the hp and rpm for them pipes, it should be on the link for slp.

I am been told the motor has about 154hp at 8800rpm

That seems a bit optimistic, heres a link to a dyno sheet of the 700 redhead motor with slp's not ported. Porting adds some on top but not enough to get to 154hp, depends on how aggressive it was done. Maybe others would have a number on the porting gains.

This the redhead with slp's http://www.m-performance.com/Grafik/Dynobilder/yamaha/sx700 slp/graf147.jpg

If you have 150ish horsepower and want to run 8800 I thing you could run heelclickers setup for a stock viper with slp's. I have an slp piped and ported viper if you want to try the setup mrviper700 gave me(he ported it).

what parts are we talking and how much,,very interested in making this set-up correct,,Thanks

I know on the sleds heel clicker's biggest drawback is traction, is this go-cart going to be able to put the power to the ground? Also if cost is an issue plenty of people have used stock Yamaha clutch parts.
HC 40-10's new $230 http://www.richmotorsports.com/store/heel-clicker-yamaha.html hard to find used but can be done around $125
helix new $125 http://www.daltonindustries.com/product_detail.php?product_id=65 these used?? $75??
my setup heelclickers 40-10 red spring, 4.5gr in the heel, 3.4 middle, 3.4 tip, aiming for 9000 rpms depending n temp I see between 8900-9000 was really bad at 55 degrees out but of course it was.
Secondary is a dalton 48/36 with red at 90 twist.
It pulls extremely hard hence the lack of traction.

Pretty large tires on the back,,the 440 motor in it now will surely break the tires loose on gravel or in mud,,,I just don't want to over -rev and blow it up..But I want it to as Bad-A## as I can get it !!!!

I should say also,,,I will be running this in 40-80 degree temps !!!!

The slp setup sheet I linked states 142 mains with stock airbox, and move up one jet size with airbox mod to 145 for +40 to +60 degrees. Just stick with stock weights for now, you can always change that later. The slp setup for stock weights is where I would start your 2002 has the same 8cr setup as the 97-2000 they are listing. http://www.slp.cc/instsheets/09-727.pdf

Would like to thank all of you that have given info,,I decided to set this kart up as a drag sled,,I am going with a RX1 secondary with a 47/41 Helix and I am starting with 8BU weights ,,heavy on rivots,,,not sure what will come of this,,2 people told me I will grenade it ,,who knows yet,,will be fun!!!!
