Hey guys newbie here, I recently bought an 02 venture with the 600 triple red head engine. I bought it from an older gentleman who rarely used it and only has 1300kms on it after all these years. it has a hesitation down low right up to mid throttle but when you hit it WOT it will run silky smooth and scream right up to a top speed of 150kph flawlessly. The carbs have been taken off and soaked, boiled and cleaned. Compression is 122 across all 3 cylinders. I also took off the head and cylinders to inspect and everything is like new. the sled starts first click of the key and idles fine. im not an expert on the ins and out of carb work and would rather not pick them apart but I have a friend who will for me so my question is would these carbs need a rebuild with only 1300kms use on them?? and could it fix my problem. Also could this be a symptom of a dirty fuel pump or fuel filter. when inspecting my plugs it kinda seems like the centre cylinder is more wet then the two outside plugs. I know this sled has never been taken apart or serviced before we did it a few days ago. Thanks for the input.

You really don't need to rebuild these carbs, just make sure they are super clean, almost sounds like you might have some junk in the pilot circuit. Also check the o-rings around the needle seats, those may need to be replaced. Did you check the reeds?
reeds looked fine to me, does this sound like more of a pilot issue to you as you said?

Yes it does. Did you remove all jets and fuel screws when you cleaned them? If the sled wasn't used much there could have been a lot of gunk in the carbs, maybe you missed some. There is a good carb cleaning page in the tech section, you might want to take a look at that.
Ok thanks I will, and yea when the carbs were taken apart they were GREEN inside so they were a mess.

Yeah...it can be tough to get all of that green crap out of there, you may have missed some.
