anyone notice a difference in rolling friction when they went to a clipped every third window camo 9830?I noticed after I put it on that the sled would not free wheel like it did with the stock fully clipped track, even with good lubrication,Its like the rubber is allmost sticky,I think the combo of every third window clipped and the extra rubber from the closed windows is the problem.slidder wear is great but really liked the free wheeling of the stock fully clipped track.I think what gains I made with the lighter weight I lost in rolling friction.if I had to do it over again I would have bought the fully clipped track.anyone else notice this?thanks-Harvey

You might be right Harvey. I can honestly say that I can't discern any performance difference with the 9830H. I only installed 96 studs so I'm gonna try filling all the predrilled holes to see if that helps.

I am running a 9830H this season i only notice the difference on the stand turning the track by handand that because some of the track nibs touch the front heat exchanger protectors. For trail riding it's great i have 144 1.075 studs in the center and the track has about an inch of free hanging space between the track and sliders. And you sure can't beat the traction over stock

When I ordered my new track I was skeptical about the third window closed tracks and had spoken to a few people who said they wouldn'd get one again. I went with the 9837 and I'm pleased with it.

the tension seems fine, love the track, just think I would go fully clipped next time.-thanks-Harvey

make sure you are not rubbing on the front heat exchanger guards. i changed my 03 viper track to a 1 1/4" ripsaw and the track would rub on the guards so i simply took a exacto knife and cut all the lugs in the cleat path down about a 1/8". after that she slid easily.

ya,I cut out the little nubs that were hitting on the heat exchangers when I first installed it,I think its just the way its going to be with this track, either way its a huge improvement traction wise compared to stock, maybe I will put it on my wifes sled next year and put the full clipped version on mine.thanks-Harvey

I notice no differance in rolling resistance once I had a few hundred miles on my Ripsaw, coasts the same as it did before and free wheels up on the stand easy.

is the ripsaw clipped every window?maybe when I get some more miles on it,it will improve.thanks-Harvey

I believe the ripsaw he is talking about is every third window but they do manke them in fully clipped also, I have not noticed any difference in friction with my 9830, I can spin it off the ground easily. I have about 350 miles on mine

Ya,I only have about 200 miles on mine, today it seemed like it is getting better the longer I ride it.thanks-Harvey

i noticed that too with my new 9830 last year. It really seemed like it had a lot of drag when it was brand new, but it got better and better the more it was ran. Traction was unbelievable compared to the stock junk.

no doubt on the traction,my stock track had 192 studs,my 9830 has 144 down the middle and the traction blows the stock track away.-Harvey
