I have an exciter with a 1994 Vmax 600 engine swap. I am using Vmax everything (motor, cdi, stator, wiring ETC.) I found an NOS GYT single pipe I am going to try and stuff in there. If I can get it to fit does anyone have the technical specs as far as jetting and elevation for the Single pipe? I know the 96 XT came standard with the single. Can I just use the factory jetting specs from the 96 XT? I found the Twin Pipe Specs but not the single. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

might need to go up one size on the jets but i would do a plug reading 1st as it sits to see how close it is.

Thanks, I was wondering if there was any factory tuning specs like there is for the GYT twin pipes. I cant do any plug chops right now and would like to get some baseline tuning for when winter hits.

You will need the GYT or std 96 y-pipe if you dont have it already.

sorry maybe my post was a bit misleading. I have a stock 94 vmax engine, I want to put my GYT single pipe on it. Being that this is a upgrade for a 94, are there different jetting specs listed somewhere. Or can I just use a set of 96 carbs since the 96 came with a gyt from the factory.

Whats up, How have you been? Not sure if you remember me. I got the harness and CDI from you last year for the conversion im doing, In exchange for the SX CDI. I just got around to getting the harness in and getting the motor set. Im trying to fit the GYT single pipe I have in the exciter chassis for the 94 vmax motor and am just trying to find out if there are specific jetting specifications for a 94 Vmax with a GYT single. Should I just run the 96 XT carbs since that seld came from the factory with the gyt? Thanks to all for the replies

Everything's good, finally ready to get this thing together. I have to say that the harness was a lifesaver, I cant thank you enough for that. It was totally plug and play. I would have hung myself with wires by now if I didnt have it lol. Hopefully I can fit that vmax pipe in there with not to much issue. Im sure people on here probably know the Exciter. It belonged to Vmax540. The red and white one that is widened with the Vmax struts and dropped tunnel. Ill get some pics up on Friday when I get home. Thanks again

I got to thinking(which usually gets me in trouble), but I think the 94 & 5 Vmaxs had slightly advanced timing. Mabey someone can confirm. If so, I'd use the bigger jetting which is on the 94 & 5.

I have a 95 vmax 600 sitting here with a GYT pipe on it. I'll check the jetting

That would be awesome!! Thanks!! My main concern is really the nozzles. I dont know about the GYT single, but I saw the GYT twin sheet that said the 94 & 95 had to switch to the Q8 nozzles with the twins but the 96 didnt being it had them from he factory. Thats what started my concern. Thanks again

According to the fiche, The nozzles are the same from 94-96 in the 600. I will double check the mains for you, but Im certain the 96 jetting is what you need. The Gyt single does make more power than the stock 94-95 pipe, but its not really a significant increase so I wouldnt expect any drastic jetting changes. Your probably good to go with what you have.

Yeah, ill try it with what it is. The 94 does have larger mains and pilots than the 96 like couple of bucks said above. I just don't know that much about the vmax, plus if I cant get this pipe to fit it would be a waste of time for you to pull anything apart. I'm not sure what most people that have done this conversion are running for a pipe. I have looked everywhere and cant find anything but twin pipe pics. I dont want to have to delete the oil tank though to run twins. Maybe an SX single pipe would work better. I really do appreciate it though. Ill get those pics up tomorrow.

Ive been thinking about doing this conversion myself. I have just about every aftermarket single made for the exciter and I would believe there would be several Y-pipe and pipe combos that would work pretty well, although, PSI used the 570 twins for their 650 big bore kit so that might be the best option...kind of thinking out loud. Im sure they would work on the 600.

here are the pics I promised. I had a crazy weekend. I have a brand new comet 108-4 pro clutch I was going to use. Had this sitting in a cabinet for a while. Might as well get my moneys worth. Pics are not the best but you can see that the swap is clean and straight forward. The pipe is the only issue.
