I've got a line on either one of these bikes.
Just wondering what are the differences between these bikes, what did yamaha change on them, and the specs for them.
If anyone has this information or knows where to point me in the right direction it would be very helpful.

02 has FI, for a start. I believe 00 was the first year after the major redesign.
you can hit www.r1-forum.com for good info.

What would you like to know. I have had the great pleasure of owning both in the past few years.
2002 updates include FI (Great FI System), new frame and body design, LED taillights...

2002 was the first year for EFI for the R1, also redesigned frame, bodywork and a few other details (Shift light, LED Tail...)

Sad to say both bikes were sold before i got to really get a good look at them.
After sitting on a 2001 R1, i was not comfortable at all for the five minutes i sat on it.
So i ended up buying a 2001 FZ1 instead. it was more comfortable, and the riding position fit me better than the R1. i know that the R1 was not designed to be a long distance rider, but after a long time of pondering i felt the FZ1 would do a better job at what i'm going to ask of it.
Anyone know what the specs (HP at crank or rear wheel, torque) are for the FZ1?
Also what aftermarket company makes the best air filter, jet kit and exhaust for it?
Any information would be excellent.
