I have all the parts to update my 1980 Enticer from a 113" track to 121". My question is which suspension should I use? I have two, one is from a 1990 phazer II the other is from a 1995 Vmax 600. I'm assuming that the phazer suspension has less travel, so I'm leaning toward that, because I don't want to throw the balance of the sled off too much.

some one might have to correct me but the phazer II skid looks like an 6-8" of travel skid to my eye. not sure on the vmax suspension. i would go with the phazer myself as i think the suspension is lighter than the vmax one.

Did this swap several times with several skids. First one I did way back when I used the skid from a mid 80's srv with a 95 vmax track(gen one pro-action, similar to the vmax). No complaints. The pz2 skid works well as does the 94-96 vmax. However, when basing your decision, you may want to factor in the fact that there many more parts for the pz skid available than the vmax.
Unless you do something really drastic in the install, you cant really upset the handling balancing. But, if your running the steel skis still, you will want to address that by using some plastic ski skins off the phazers and adapting them to fit your enticer skis. World of difference here in performance.
From there, your into a custom tunnel extension along with a new rear bumper. Forgot to add, Maim is dead on with the pz skids being lighter!

Not to hijack the OP but, snowdad4 and Maim, THANK YOU for the info. I'm in the same process as well and was leaning towards the Phazer2 (121") skid as it is lighter which fits the plan!

Thanks guys. I will post pictures when I get to it. Right now, I'm finishing up some mods on my Phazer II, finally putting the 600xt shocks on the front.
