Can I simply modify this gauge pod?

So I pulled the shroud from my 01 srx700 and my 01 vx600. I now see the differences. I could fabricate the old shroud to work with the dual bulb. Part of the light would be overlapping the windshield, but it would work.
Anyone tried it? Feed back?

It would be a lot easier just to get the headlight cover for the dual bulb headlight.
I found this on ebay. Brand new..was having a hard time finding one in good condition.

Anyone trying cutting the stock single bulb windshield to fit the dual bulb? I know I would have to modify the pod itself as well.
