Exciter cylinder swap

Will a cylinder of an '89 be compatible with one from '93. I know the sx has different porting, but this is on a st.

they are different the 89 has a the old cast bore the 93 is nicisal coated
and they both have different ignitions the 93 has a hotter one. I personally
wouldn't think they would be compatable

it will work, but like brad said you wouldnt have the coating.... not a really big deal. because the coating wears out anyway, i never had the coating on the old 1987, at 40 over... and no problems just break her in slowly before you go too wild.. thats why they are called exploders because people dont know how to break them in give her a couple fillups with extra oil added into the gas tank and just cruz
