So I picked up a go kart and have been searching for some time now with not to much luck. All I have found is that it possible came out of a Yamaha Exciter, I'm pretty sure it's a 440 engine but anything else's I am at a stand still. Here are the numbers I have found so far:
Flywheel #SS433-040742
Head #433CCSF
Belt #89X-17641-01
Trying to figure out wiring so I can add some lights to this. Thank you in advance for any help.

So I think I have it figured out. I think it's a 1980 Yamaha 440 exciter engine. But have a few other things I want to work out with the motor and trans. Trying to figure out how to hook up the Revers Drive and Neutral for it. Would also like to get the oil tank back on it and not have to mix the gas(what would be the ratio for oil gas mix?) And want to get lights going as well but that will come later. Here is a link to see pictures of the kart and setup.

might want to confirm that the oil injection pump is still working.
How would I go about that? its has 2 spots for hose hookup, and then it has the 2 lines that go to each cylinder but don't know where the hose would go, right now it's setup to just run in a loop. Also is there any identifying marks on the transmission to see what I have, any info I have found on the sled doesn't mention forward and reverse. Would like to get that hooked up so I don't have to reach behind me if I need reverse.

440 Exciter, like that engine apparently came from, never had a reverse option. Newer models had a rather involved chain case gear reduction assembly that had took care of reverse. You would need to reconfigure everything about the drive system. There are a few used one's for sale on here most of the time but instalation would be extremely involved to say the least. It would be easier to buy a used engine from a newer sled with all the electrical system (entire trashed sled would be best) and just have the engine run backwards. Either way it is going to be a project.
