Has anyone ever used these before? What would be the point to raising the track?

higher center of gravity and deeper trenching capabilities. combined with raising the front suspension and allowing the skid to uncouple more the sled handles easier in deeper snow/off trail conditions. Is a little tricky getting the suspension preload settings back to optimal because the front of the skid doesnt get dropped.
i used the cbperformance ones http://www.cbperformanceparts.com/suspensions/rear-suspension/drop-bracket-yamaha/

Great upgrade for extra clearance. Does nothing for riding on trail other then looks cool. I did put drop brackets on my 144 viper for improved off trail riding but was a ball buster in trail. I like Devin ran cb 's brackets. But the ones you show look pretty nice also. Just be very conscious not to change geometry of skid or it will bind and ride like a rock. You must keep all mounting points in line with each other. This is the challenge.

They let the track go deeper in the snow before you get stuck. That's it.
Does nothing to stop the front from plowing and in fact can make it worse with the change in angle they create. Unless one does something with the track for deep snow performance there is no point and the brackets don't do anything for track to tunnel clearance that would allow a deep snow track.
They scare me when I see them on the trails as I know they don't corner worth squat and that can be ugly when meeting head to head in a corner.
As with most of these gadget/gimmick type add-ons you see for stuff they only tell/show the part of the story they want you to see/hear.

PS, I don't think they look cool at all.

Here's my sons.

Definitely definitely definitely need to readjust skid geometry. I seem to remember 1.5" down & .5" forward on the front mount. My 96 that is stock(suspension wise) will destroy him in the twisties.
