changing track slides

No drill....... Underneath there is a Phillips screw you remove the screw and then you can move the slides. Look through the window of the track. Loosen the track count your turns for when you put it back together. The slides will come out the back. It's tight but it can be done.

How do you change the track slides on a 02 viper. at the front mine has a rivet. do I have to drill that out

Thats the rail cap.. (DO NOT REMOVE THAT) as stated the screw is underneath and use a big tip Phillips screw driver to pull the screw out. Then go in from the rear and wedge a big flat screw driver thru the track window from the rear between slide and rail and pry down slowly as you roll the track and force the slide out the track window. Now you can roll the track backwards and it will peel it like a banana or if you have reverse you can use that to assist you but be careful on the amount of throttle you give it or you can blast the rail caps off..

Look at your new slides. There is a countersunk hole in one end. That is where the bolt is that's retaining the slide in place. It is up on the forward curved section of the rails.

If you have a hard time pulling them off, there is another way. You can start at one end and peal them off from the side.

some wd-40 will help them slide off and through the track windows. white slides last longer btw as they have no pigment in them thus they are harder and last longer.

Sometimes when they are really tough to get off I use a utility knife and cut the outer edge off, that takes the pressure off of them so you can slide them out.
