I am looking for the jetting specs for 44 mm powerjet carbs that Aaen & Reichards sold back in the day for the 540 Vmax. I am setting some up and would like to know if anyone has a set that can tell me what all the jets are in the carbs. If I know where to start hopefully I won't burn it down.. Thanks in advance....:dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno:

I've got an 87 engine with 44 PJ carbs. These are center dump PJ's. Not sure if that is what Aaen/Reichards sold.

I bought this sled complete many years ago and these carbs were on it. The chassis was real rough but it's still here. The engine is in a 78 SRX and hauls a$$.

If you think these might be what you're looking for I can open them up and get you the info. Won't have time to do it until Sunday though.

Opsled may be able to give you a starting point .....Phil what is the the jetting on old "Uncle Don" i would think that would be a safe set up .....

i aside from that i can give you my non power jet setting i run on my big bore 79 srx which is 514cc with 45.5 mm rounds which i would think would be safe
40 pilot
air screw 1 turn
BB-0 tube
2.5 CA
7DH2 needle 3rd clip
440 main
No Air Jet

while you guys are here, i need a comet 102 c for a 79 srx. don,t need weights and spring. just a good tight uncalibrated primary. anybody ? 3:16x (yammie tony)

No Comet here either Tony.

I'll drag ole Uncle Don in on Sunday, dig into those carbs and post what I find.

OK, Got a chance to pull these 44's this AM and take them apart.

The numbers on the tubes and needles have been ground off (guess they didn't want the competition to know?). I can barely make out the Mik logo on one needle and the 224 #'s are still on the tubes but that's it. Talked with Mike (Yamaha Nutz) and he thinks the BB-0 tube and 7DH2 needle as used in his setup would be a good start. I agree.

Here's the rest

Slides-- 2.5
Needles-- no # 4th clip down
Tubes-- 224 ???
Mains-- 300 left, 290 right
Pilots-- 35
Power jets-- 170
Air screws 3/4 out left, 7/8 out right

This engine is in a 78 SRX with no filters and seems fine. My buddy Donny Avery tossed it together a bunch of years ago with parts out of my barn, his piles and cheap swap meet stuff. It's a rat for sure but runs real strong. Shortly after he put it together he chased down, caught and passed a newer Doo and F-7 Cat on a 1+ mile run down the river. It was cold and racing them back up he did score one cylinder a bit but that turned out to be a bad PJ hose. Fixed that and the cylinder and it's been fine ever since so it's not a ragged edge lean setup.

Good Luck, opsled
