I know pics are the most pleasurable part of forum lurking so:
Just some pics of the progress; I'll post more soon when its complete.
1996 Vmax XT 600. Been putting in some shop time re-freshening it up.
-Fixed some cracks with fiberglass, bodywork and new paint (Ford deep impact blue).
-De-greased & cleaned the entire sled
-Skidoo SC3 rear suspension with mountain machines big wheel kit
-136x1.25 lug & studded track
-SLP 121 to 136 track extension
-tons of powder coating
-tunnel extension
-New seat cover

Judging from the track clips, how long did it sit?
Now I want to powder coat my skid. I'll probably do it in a SILVER VEIN next summer. Here's mine.

Yours is looking good. Might do what you did and change the fuel filter.
This thing was pretty neglected
The sled sat for 2 years and probably 4 before than. The stock skid was rusted away and every bearing seized up. So decided to replace it with something that had more travel.

Definitely definitely definitely change the tank filter out. It's painless on the 94-96 models. Just remove the spring(#14)holding the pickup boot on the top of the tank and lift it out.

I'll gar-in-Phukin-tee ya that it is sh!t. And then the inline one is just added piece of mind.

I bet the bars would look sweet with a 2 to 4 inch riser, power madd guards, or gauntlets, and new grips.
